A group of us Brothers went to the Long Beach 2024 Grand Prix in partnership with Sports Fan Outreach International to share the Good News of Jesus Christ. While Brother Landon was preaching, a man named Damon Franklin approached and claimed that he and all people are made perfect. We challenged his belief by asking him according to what standard he was measuring his perfection; he tried demonstrating an action of jumping off the curb as a perfect deed. We told him that God's standard for mankind is to be without sin and that he was deceived by Satan into thinking he was good enough to stand before a Holy God. We urged him to repent and look to Christ alone. We brought the message, and it is our prayer that all of those we had the opportunity to share with that day and those who heard the preaching of the Word of God would be found by God Himself, causing them to be born again. There were many great conversations, and much literature was passed out. The cult of Jehovah’s Witnesses was present on nearly every corner, spanning about 5 blocks in both directions from the event. We thankfully were able to share with one of them and show them the deity of Christ found in Revelation 1:17-18, "When I saw Him, I fell at His feet like a dead man. And He placed His right hand on me, saying, “Do not be afraid; I am the first and the last, and the living One; and I was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore, and I have the keys of death and of Hades." Then, cross-referencing Isaiah 44:6- 8, “Thus says the LORD, the King of Israel and his Redeemer, the LORD of hosts: ‘I am the first and I am the last, And there is no God besides Me.”
