Brothers Landon and Corbin went to the 2024 Final Four games at the Crypto Arena in Downtown Los Angeles to share the Gospel with the Los Angeles Lakers and Dallas Mavericks fans. They met a man named Rustam from Russia, who was visiting Los Angeles and was drawn in by receiving a Gospel Tract. There was a bit of a language barrier, but the conversation carried forward with our evangelism survey. Rustam was Agnostic with a Spiritualist view of New Age Mysticism. He believed that to reach Heaven, one needed to be covered in white, positive light rather than dark blackness, and thought that punishment awaited those who didn't meet this standard. When asked if he believed he was a good person, he confidently said yes and showed records of his donations to the Red Cross and St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, believing that these actions would ensure his well-being on Judgment Day. This led to a discussion about the white robes of perfection in Christ, which sinful man needs for our sins to be forgiven. After explaining the Gospel to Rustam, he seemed to understand why Jesus died on the cross. However, he was reluctant to repent and turn to Christ when asked if he was ready to get right with God. He declined to receive a Bible, stating that he had the Bible in his heart. It's clear that simply believing in the facts of the Gospel will not save you; you must be born again. Let's pray for Rustam, asking God to grant him repentance, bestow upon him true saving faith, transform him into a new creation, and embrace him as a child of God in His kingdom by the work of the Holy Spirit.
