Devout Catholic Learns His Works Can’t Save Him
In this video, brother Jason Osborne and brother Will Dieterich share the Gospel with a student named Abel at the University of North Texas in Dallas, Texas. Abel is a professing and practicing Roman Catholic, and after going through the Evangelism Survey with Abel, two main concerns arose. Firstly, Abel affirmed that he was not born-again, and secondly, he believed that he would gain entrance into Heaven by cleaning up his life of devotion to following the teachings of Christ and repentance. Brother Jason and Will lovingly pointed him to the Scripture truth about how there is none righteous and that no one can be saved by their own merits or practice of works righteous deeds. After sharing the law and walking through the good news of what Jesus Christ has done on behalf of those who are His, Abel expressed and recognized his need to turn from the observance of works-based salvation in the Catholic Church and to place his faith in Christ alone. Abel left with some of our materials and literature to further study the differences between Roman Catholicism and Biblical Christianity. Please pray that God would have mercy on Abel.
