WARNING EXPLICIT LANGUAGE 01/19/25 I flew to Los Angeles and met with Brother Danny, "The Hood Theologian" from Complete Surrender Ministries, and went to preach at Venice Beach, a place known for violence, crime, drugs, and witchcraft. Brother Danny began preaching on the corner of Windward and Pacific under the iconic VENICE sign. A few people stopped to listen, but about seven minutes in, the insults began. When it was my turn, I started by sharing that Venice Beach was my old stomping ground before coming to Christ. I spoke about Revelation 20:11-15, the judgment at God’s throne, and how those not found in the Lamb’s Book of Life will be judged according to their deeds and cast into the Lake of Fire, urging them to turn to Christ, the only means of salvation. While preaching, two homeless individuals began cursing and blaspheming. One of them, a large man, picked up a metal weapon and started banging on signs, threatening that I would meet my Creator that night. I told him I loved him and didn’t want him to go to hell, which enraged him further. He and the woman he was with got closer, creating a chaotic scene by stopping traffic, banging on things, and shouting explicit blasphemies about Jesus. Danny stepped up to preach, addressing the chaos and pointing out how the demons didn't want us there to preach the Gospel. The woman began quoting Scripture in a twisted way, and the man, with his voice seemingly changing to something demonic, declared that he had authority over the city. As the situation escalated, God sent encouragement. People came up to say they were praying for us, and two brothers named Scott and Chris boldly prayed over us for protection. Right after their prayer, the police arrived and intervened. Even the officers, who were Christians, told us it was only by God’s grace that we were unharmed. We told the man we forgave him, loved him, and urged him to come to Christ before it was too late. Though it was intense, the commotion drew a crowd, allowing more people to hear the Gospel. Praise God for His protection and for using the moment to proclaim His message of salvation! Please pray for everyone we encountered, the two who seemingly were under demonic possession and all those who received tracts and heard the Word preached. May the Lamb who was slain receive the reward of His suffering. To God alone be the glory!
